NEW
WEB SITE FOR SLIGHTLY STOOPID - POSTED JANUARY
25, 2009 -
Fast
Atmosphere is pleased to announce that we are working
on a new web site for Southern California's roots-reggae-folk-punk
rockers Slightly Stoopid. The band's story can be traced
to Ocean Beach, CA when childhood chums Miles and Kyle
formed the group in 1995, mixing reggae and punk sounds
into one smooth stylistic cocktail. Soon after, late/great
Sublime frontman Brad Nowell caught wind of the group,
and signed them to his Skunk Records label – while
the band members were still in high school. The band
has produced 7 studio albums so far in their rich fourteen-year
history. Slightly Stoopid are currently on tour with
The Supervillains.

The
Mother Hips - LIMITED EDITION SPLIT 7-inch VINYL
w/ UK's THE BEES - POSTED APRIL
2, 2008 -
Camera
Records is proud to release a split 7" vinyl single
on April 22 from two acclaimed bands:
Isle of Wight’s Mercury prize-nominated The
Bees (also known as "A Band of Bees" in America)
and esteemed California quartet The Mother
Hips. The single offers two brand new tracks, "Papa
Echo" by The Bees and "Childish Dreams" by The Mother
Hips. The release marks the first studio recordings
since 2007’s Octopus by The Bees and Kiss
The Crystal Flake by The Mother Hips.
The record is a must have for afficionados who truly
appreciate the psychedelic-70’s-power-pop movement.
“Papa Echo” from The Bees swirls
their well-known psychedelia with blazing Latin-jazz and
salsa rhythms. Side AA’s "Childish Dreams" from
The Mother Hips brings a fresh punch to the bands' repertoire, "melding
heady Revolver-era vocals with Zombies-esque pop." The
antique green sleeve was screen-printed in NYC with hand-drawn
lettering by Hugh Miller Surratt, the resident poster artist
at Michigan State University from 1970-1975, drawing posters
for Miles Davis, The Byrds, Frank Zappa, and The Grateful
Dead, among others.
Orders
are being taken now. All orders received a free download
of each track within 24 hours of placing the order. Pre-orders
prior to release day will receive their download link
on April 22nd. This is a limited edition release and
these songs will not be available to download individually
without purchasing the vinyl. These tracks will not be
available via iTunes or any other digital distribution
retailer. If you pre-order, we plan to have it at your
doorstep on or before April 22, the day it also hits

Kelly
Joe PhelpsTunesmith
Retrofit -
RELEASED AUGUST 1, 2006 -
'Tunesmith
Retrofit' marks the seventh
full-length release from acoustic/slide
guitar player and singer-songwriter
Kelly Joe Phelps. ' Tunesmith
Retrofit' is
another side of Phelps to be sure, as a songwriter who
understands the actual music of poetry and creates a loose,
coarse weave that allows the listener room to inhabit and
live inside his songs. His rhythm is true, his words are
impure, his songs are nearly glorious. Once more, Phelps
shatters expectations and conjures something truly original
and brave in the process." Thom Jurek - All Music
Guide
We
are very pleased to announce our relationship with singer-songwriter
Sean Hayes. Born in Greensboro, NC with roots now in the
SF Bay Area, Sean has just released his fourth CD entitled
'Big Black Hole and the Little Baby Star.' On
Saturday, January 28th 2006 Sean celebrated the release
of his new CD with a sold-out headlining show at the Great
American Music Hall in San Francisco. We've also made Sean's complete catalogue available for download.
You
might be asking yourself "I could have sworn that
Fast Atmosphere was Internet Solutions for MUSIC. So how
does a comedian fit in?" Well, the new DanaCarvey.com
is going to include plenty of spontaneous songs (you might
remember "Choppin' Broccoli"
from the Saturday Night Live days) written and
performed by the Emmy award winning comic.
In addition, DanaCarvey.com will include just what you
would expect ... uncanny and exaggerated comedic
impersonations of political figures, and skits of a hilarious
cast of characters that only Carvey could create... some
who you will undoubtedly recognize.
Coming soon!!
